Collection: Custom Wedding Veils

A custom wedding veil starts with a conversation. You tell us the dress, the venue, the silhouette you want walking down the aisle, and we build a veil from that brief. Every Tara Bridal custom piece is made-to-order in our Hanoi atelier, so the length, color, edge, and embellishment all match your specific ceremony rather than a stock spec.

This collection holds our currently available bespoke and customizable styles. If you want something that does not appear here, write to us and we will quote a fully bespoke veil from a sketch or reference image.

How the design process works

We start with two photos: your dress and any inspiration image you have saved. From there we discuss length, color (ivory, light ivory, off-white, champagne, or a custom dye lot), edge treatment (raw cut, narrow horsehair, beaded, or embroidered), and embellishment placement. You receive a digital sketch or fabric photo before we cut. Most clients sign off in two or three rounds of revisions.

What you can customize

The variables clients change most often are length, comb width, gather density, color, blusher add-on, and embellishment density. We also adjust scatter patterns for floral or beaded designs, drop the embroidery lower on the hem if you want a quieter back view, or mix two colors in a single embroidered motif. The HANNAH embroidered veil and the EMMA floral embroidered veil are common starting points for clients who want to adjust placement or thread color.

Sizing and length options

Standard lengths run from elbow at roughly 30 inches through royal cathedral at 144 inches or longer. For a custom commission we measure to your specific height and shoe, plus the dress train length. If the veil should puddle behind the train at a fixed distance, we cut to that distance. The veil sizing guide walks through how to take the measurements at home.

Timeline and rush options

A standard custom build takes 4 to 6 weeks once the design is approved. Heavily embroidered or 3D floral pieces can run 6 to 8 weeks. If your date is closer, add a rush order and we will quote a compressed timeline. Read the full custom veil timeline guide for what to expect at each stage.

Color and fabric choices

The color decision is usually the second largest after length. White, light ivory, ivory, off-white, and champagne are our standing options. We can also dye fabric to a custom shade if you provide a swatch or hex reference. For fabric, fine soft tulle handles drape and gather elegantly; light organza brings crisper movement and is the go-to for outdoor and beach ceremonies. The veil materials guide covers how each fabric behaves on the body.

Embellishment options

Hand embroidery, scattered beading, dimensional 3D petals, lace appliqué, and printed motifs are all available. Pieces like the COLORFUL KAITIE cathedral embroidered floral veil show how dense embroidery scales across a long length. For dimensional florals on a custom commission, see the OCEAN 3D embroidered veil as a reference for petal scale and density.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send my own embroidery design or motif?

Yes. Send a reference image and we will reproduce it on a sample square first, confirm thread colors with you, then run it on the veil. Trademarked or copyrighted artwork cannot be used.

How do you match the veil color to my dress?

The most reliable method is a fabric swatch from your dressmaker. If a swatch is not available, a flat daylight photo of the dress next to a white card works for most ivory and champagne shades. We confirm the chosen tone in writing before cutting.

Do I need to come in for a fitting?

No. We work entirely remotely with photos, measurements, and approval emails. Worldwide shipping is included on every custom order, with tracking and signature on delivery.

What happens if I change my mind after design approval?

Up until we cut fabric, design changes are free. Once cutting starts, structural changes (length, width) are not reversible, but surface changes like adding scattered beads can sometimes be retrofitted. We will tell you exactly which stage your order is in.

Can a custom veil be returned?

Custom and made-to-order veils are final sale because they are cut to your spec. We do however ship a final approval photo of the finished piece before it leaves the studio so you can flag any concerns while changes are still possible.

The Beauty of Custom Wedding Veils

A custom bridal veil allows you to design every element of your ensemble. From cathedral-length veils that command elegance to fingertip and chapel styles for modern romance, customization gives you full creative freedom. Choose from silk tulle, organza, or French lace, then decide on edge finishes — scalloped, raw-cut, or beaded — to perfectly complement your gown.

Our clients often incorporate meaningful details:

  • Personalized embroidery with initials, vows, or wedding dates.
  • Color accents inspired by bouquets or cultural motifs.
  • Floral arrangements and crystal embellishments for bespoke texture and shine.

No two veils are ever the same — each one is designed to tell your story.

How to Design Your Custom Veil

The process is simple, personal, and collaborative. Begin with inspiration — whether it’s a family heirloom, a design sketch, or a photo reference. Our bridal consultants guide you through:

  1. Selecting the base fabric — from sheer silk tulle for weightless elegance to organza for structure.
  2. Choosing embellishments — lace, pearls, 3D flowers, embroidery, or beadwork.
  3. Determining the veil length — fingertip for practicality, chapel for balanced elegance, or cathedral for grandeur.
  4. Adding personal touches — initials, quotes, or design motifs that hold emotional meaning.

You’ll receive digital mockups and designer feedback to ensure your veil is everything you imagined — and more.
